Dear Sirs,

You might want to know that this letter, along with many others, is being posted on our new web site, www.NorthStar-sucks.com. Should you wish to respond, we will post your written response on the web site.

This is letter #2 in reference to a house we purchased from Summit Crest thru NorthStar Builders. Your manufacturing number is 22-01-439-08251 A/B. Summit Crest claims it is not responsible for the actions of sellers like NorthStar Builder. Since NorthStar is a licensed seller of Summit Crest products, Summit Crest has an obligation to monitor the activities of same. Summit Crest received numerous complaints concerning the quality of work by NorthStar. Summit Crest has also honored NorthStar with plaques for sales and service. Because of the shoddy work by NorthStar, and the relationship between them and Summit Crest, we have informed our lawyer to include Summit Crest in the legal actions. The following is the main portion of a letter we have also sent to NorthStar

Karen and I braved the snowstorm on January 16, and did an inspection of the house. I made the following list of those items that need repairing, etc. As we requested in an earlier letter, we still have nothing in writing concerning the "six week walk thru" that you claim NorthStar will make.

Starting at the front door. The front door frame, outside, has six white plastic plugs, 3 of whiich are missing. The door frame still is not weather-proofed adequately. Wind, dirt, and snow are still coming in. Inside the front door, at the upper left corner of the front door frame is some really bad dry wall work. Next to the door, the double light switches, the dry wall between them is pushed in and needs repair. Ceiling fan rough in was not ordered by us. Inside of living room window is heavily spattered with paint (or dry wall mud).

Master Bedroom. Door and door frame has excessive nicks, holes, and paint rubbed off. Ceiling along west wall has sloppy dry wall work about 4 inches long. Ceiling crack along east wall runs the entire length of the room. Ceiling crack along north wall is over 1 foot long.

Master Bathroom. Cabinet molding along top is separating from cabinet and wall. Paint spatters on cabinets. Door is badly dinged. Both sinks have no plungers. Ceiling crack along north wall is over 3 feet long. Ceiling crack along west wall runs entire length of bathroom and into shower stall area. Ceiling cracks in toilet stall area.

Media Room. Ceiling crack along west wall runs most of the room. There's also a vertical crack running down the wall to the window. Ceiling crack along north wall about 1 foot long. Paint spatters on the window curtains and entertainment console. The television set and VCR have not been delivered.

Dining Room. Sliding glass door leaks wind, dirt, and snow. Ceiling crack above sliding glass door. Paint spattered on valences.

Kitchen. Wrong counter tops. We did not order the ones delivered. Paint spattered on cabinets and on the kitchen window. Splotches of paint on floor. Stove is not level and the metal restraining strap on the refrigerator not completely removed. Ceiling crack over window. Vertical crack about 3 feet running from west wall near stove vent. Ceiling crack along south wall.

Utility Area. Door leaks dirt, wind, and snow. Ceiling crack over door. Ceiling crack along north wall and along east wall.

Bedroom 1. Vertical crack from ceiling to window.

Bedroom 2. Ceiling crack along east wall 6 inches long.

Bedroom 3. Ceiling crack along west wall runs most of the room. Paint spattered on window valence. Inside top of door frame damaged.

Bathroom 2. Sink has no plunger. Major paint splatters on tub curtains. Paint and drywall mud on bathroom floor. Ceiling crack along east wall. Two vertical cracks running down east wall. Light fixture cover spattered with paint and not installed.

Hallway. Ceiling light cover badly spattered with paint and not in place.

Closets. Impossible to gauge for now. Instead of drywall finishing they are done with molding. None have lights so a close inspection is difficult.

Door Frames. Most door frames have holes and other dings that were not cosmetically repaired. Numerous nails were left sticking in the door frames by the finishers.

Time Frame. The house was set and inspected acceptable by Park County on October 19, 2000. There was more than ample time to get the interior work done completely and adequately before cold weather.
