RE: Complaint letter dated February 11,2000

Dear Janet,

I am writing you this letter as a means of response to the vicious and slanderous letter that you received from some individuals residing in Park County. I am enclosing with this letter a copy of the letter that I wrote to the Park County Building and Zoning Department (the actual county of jurisdiction for this project), and I believe that it will explain the entire issue to you. I realize that you don't have direct interest in the project mentioned, and you are instead more interested in the overall 'slams' from these two people, but I felt that you might benefit from the information included within.

In response to the letter directed to your office specifically, and I really want to keep this brief, please let it be knows that of the 25 direct accusations that I picked out in a quick scan of the informatin, a full 25 of them are nothing but lies. My company currently has a very large suite filed against several of the individuals involved, which should explain a lot of their 'sour grapes'. You should be receiving papers form our attorney to include in my file with regard to the suit. If you have any reason to believe any of their information, please let me know and we'll meet to discuss it. If not, I will (briefly) go over a few of the points here. I don't feel that I am incompetent in any way, and I hope that you'll agree. I do not fail inspections on a regular basis, nor do I neglect to pull the proper permits. I don't ever attempt projects without the permits, and I don't lose sub-contract workers that I haven't fired for cause. We have, with the exception of the few that I've needed to fire, kept the same workers since we opened this business.

The factory work is done by the factory, not by us, so there is no charge to the customer. The other claims are little more than slander, so I won't waste your time with them.

I'm sorry that you had to get involved in this issue, but they obviously feel that they need to destroy our business. There is a capitalistic motive behind this whole move, and I will bore you with the details is you wish, but otherwise, rest assured that I will continue to 'color inside of the lines' with respect to your department.
