Dear Ms. Potter,
I received your package shortly before Christmas
of 1999, and I'm responding as requested. The Naredo-Thomas transaction has
been a complicated and long, drawn-out process. I am unable, though, to make
out a clear and distinct complaint within the body of your package. I understand
that Mr. Thomas and Mr. Naredo have taken issue with a few things, namely:
The home was near completion when the gentlemen
terminated our agreement to complete the construction project. We only needed to
complete the carpeting and final grade work outside (in addition, of course, to the
final inspections with building officials). The project was taken over by another general
contractor. I understand that they factory has been to the home to do what repairs
I requested months ago. I understand from another sub-contractor that we work with,
that the home still is not complete, and that the work done since we've left the job
has been less than adequate.
The last time I spoke with Mr. Thomas & Mr. Naredo,
(about a month ago) they left me with the impression, and it's documented, that
they were happy with NorthStar Home Sales, and my work personally BUT that they
wish we would continue helping to see that the factory did the repairs needed to their
home. I explained that the project was so near to completion that once they had the
Certificate of Occupancy, they could move in and the factory could be relied upon to
'show up', but they didn't like that idea. I suggested that we finish the home
immediately, but they wanted instead to wait until Summit Crest did their repairs
before carpeting the home. It was all very frustrating, so we terminated the relationship,
they found another contractor (I assume), and I wish them the best in their new home.
I have sent extensive documentation to Mr. Thomas and Mr. Naredo regarding the
timing of the project, the warranties offered by the factory, and the assurances they
have that the home is 'sound'. Since the complaint that you are basing your letter
on is dated so much before my left dealings with the homeowner, I would appreciate
it if you would please give me a call, or write me another letter, and explain exactly
what the problem is today, and where NorthStar Home Sales fits into the picture.
I would be happy to send you documentation regarding the project, but it seems from
looking through the package that you sent to me, that you have a lot of what I would
send to you. I will be waiting to hear from you. Thanks Sherril, and have a wonderful
day!
Very sincerely,
Signature of Barbara Robbins
